2 tbsp (25 ml) brandy (optional*)
1/2 cup (125 ml) whipping cream
1 tsp (5 ml) salt, approximately

COOKING DIRECTIONS:

– SPINACH AND GARLIC MASHED POTATOES
Cook potatoes in medium saucepan of salted water for about 15 minutes or until tender; drain and mash.
Melt butter in a medium frying pan over medium heat. Add garlic and cook until fragrant. Stir in spinach and cook for 1 to 2 minutes or until spinach is wilted. Stir spinach mixture into potatoes. Add remaining ingredients and stir until combined.

– PEPPERED STEAK
While potatoes are cooking, press garlic and pepper into both sides of each steak. Melt butter in large frying pan over medium-high heat. Cook steaks, 3 to 5 minutes per side or until cooked to desired doneness. Remove from pan. Cover to keep warm and set aside.
